St Richard's Appeal
Preparing for the future...
Donate to the school at no extra cost to yourself! All you have to do is sign up here
and register as a giver, specifying St Richard's as your charity. Then, every time you purchase a product from a
participating retailer, via TheGivingMachine™, they will pay a commission in the form of a cash donation to the school.
It really is that easy: you are buying the same products, at the same price, on the same shopping websites as if you went
direct but the difference is, by shopping via TheGivingMachine™, you generate free cash donations
at no extra cost to you personally.
All major retailers participate including Amazon, Tesco (non-grocery), iTunes, John Lewis, M & S, Argos, Sainsburys, Boots, Currys,
Debenhams, ELC, White Stuff and over 400 more!
All of the participating shops have agreed to pay a commission in the form of a cash donation every time you click on
their link and buy a qualifying product from them. If you do not access the online shop via the links on
TheGivingMachine™, then the donation will not be triggered and the school will
not get their donation.
Lyndon Jones has completed his a 24-hour bowlathon in aid of the Delivery Suite at The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch
and the St Richard’s Appeal.
He bowled continuously at a set of cricket stumps for 24 hours in the Hirons Hall
at St Richard's.
He has raised a massive £2,200 so far and funds are still coming in. You can still
support him by making a
donation via Virgin Money Giving.
Please visit our News page for more information and photos.
This is an evening of a few fun hours for the whole school, their parents and family, and the teachers. There will team games
for all the family: egg & spoon race, small obstacle course and some mental challenges. A pig roast and refreshments will be
available.
Each member of Form VI will be a Team Captain and everyone will be allocated to a team once we have all the entrants.
Teams will be posted in the Winter Gardens.
Entry fee is £10 per adult and £5 per child.
Please click here for the invitation or email
Fenella Kenyon-Slaney for further information.
There are two ways you can donate to the Appeal: either as a one-off or by regular payments. Both types of payments can be made via
Virgin Money Giving but please be aware that giving online, while being a superb and efficient way of doing so, does mean that we get
approximately 5% less of your donation.
Alternatively, download our
donation form, fill it in, including the Gift Aid section if appropriate (we can claim another 25% of your donation from HMRC
if you do), and return it (with a cheque if it's a one-off) to The Appeal, St Richard’s, Bredenbury Court, Bromyard,
Herefordshire HR7 4TD. Please make your cheque payable to St Richard’s Appeal Fund.
We launched the St Richard’s Appeal with the improvement of Hirons Hall very much at the forefront of our
minds and that is why it is so exciting to be able to tell you that we are not far from reaching our first financial target
and actually being able to start work on the Hall.
We aim to make Hirons Hall a drier and warmer environment and enable it to be usable all year round. The
work to Hirons will include a new roof and cross-boarding of the existing Yorkshire boarding (the slats around the top of
the wall). This will make it both windproof and leak-free!
We hope to do these improvements over the summer holidays. However, work cannot be started, builders cannot be booked, until
we have all the money in the pot. To date we have raised just over £30,000 and we need to push this up to £43,600 before
we can go ahead.
We ask that you please continue to support us on the last rung of this steep ladder. There are several ways you can do this:
with a straight donation or a standing order, either direct to us or via Virgin Money Giving; through sponsorship/support of
the various events we organise; or via TheGivingMachine - whereby you give to us for free simply by shopping online. You can
also contribute to the Appeal by offering to help with a fundraising event – all suggestions are most welcome. For these and
any other ideas or questions please contact us on at
appeal@st-richards.org.uk.
We thank you so much for your support and truly hope that together we can see the first phase of the St Richard’s Appeal
completed by the end of 2013.
