Welcome to the St Richard's Appeal webpage. The Appeal
was launched by the Headmaster, Nathan Cheesman, at Prize-Giving on the
9th July 2011 and has multiple objectives.
- Primarily the intention is to refurbish Hirons Hall bringing it up to full "indoor sports hall" status; this will
include re-roofing, re-cladding and installing heating.
- The next phase is the creation of changing facilities alongside
the Hall - this will have the added benefit of releasing a lot of
pressure around the back corridors of the main building.
- Having upgraded Hirons Hall we will turn to remodelling the
'staff' carpark;
by landscaping the area and making the approach altogether more aesthetic we can create a larger,
smarter parking area for staff, visiting teams and further space for
cars for events such as the Christmas Fayre;
this too will have the added benefit of improving the visual
aspect of the back drive by which most of us approach the school on a daily basis.
- Any further funds raised will be channelled towards the updating of other facilities within the school.
Our plan to raise the money is three-pronged :
- via contact with our former pupils
- by applying to charitable foundations
- by a series of large events, of which the first will be a
"Midsummer Madness" gathering on Saturday, 16th June 2012; these will be separate to our regular fundraising
activities, such as the cake sales, Bag2School, candlelit dinners and
the Christmas Fayre.
Our target figure is £300,000 though we see the Appeal as an on-going
project in itself. We are not at this point in time putting a
time-limit to the Appeal. We are also satisfied that all work
undertaken can be done with minimum disruption to normal school
activities.
Please join us in making this a successful and exciting project - we
have set ourselves a demanding challenge but are confident that, with
the loyal support of all those who come into contact with the school, it
is all very achievable. If you feel able to help then please contact
the Appeal Chairman,
Hugh (Boz) Farey.
To donate please download the
Gift Aid Form and send it, signed,
with your cheque (made out to St Richard's Appeal Fund), to the School at the address below;
alternatively fill out the Bankers Order on the same form to make a
regular donation.
You may prefer to donate online via
Virgin Money Giving.
Please note that giving on-line, while being a superb and efficient way of doing so, does
mean that we get approximately 5% less of your donation.
