It is easy to take water for granted. We can turn on a tap and there it is.
Nearly a billion people worldwide do not have clean water NEAR their
homes. Many have to walk for hours to fetch dirty water,
which they use to drink, wash and bathe in. This dirty water can cause disease.
The money we raise and send to CAFOD is used to drill wells to bring clean water closer to villages
and thereby, helps to save lives and makes peoples’ quality of life so much better.
Twice a year in the Michaelmas and Lent Term, St Richard's, has a Family Fast Day
where lunch is soup, bread and apples. The school donates the lunch money to CAFOD and families can donate
further if they wish, using the envelopes the children bring home.
Our Family Fast Day this term raised £325.00 -
thank you so much for your support.
CAFOD works in many countries to tackle poverty and encourage development.
