The School
St Richard's is a Catholic school, welcoming children of all faiths. We are a boarding and day school, including a Pre-Prep and Nursery, for about 140 boys and girls set in 35 acres of Herefordshire countryside.
The lively and homely atmosphere, within the traditional
rural setting of St Richard's, forms the foundation on which our
children thrive; it is here that life-long friendships are kindled, good
manners are intrinsically learnt, appreciation for the surroundings is
engendered and basic Christian values are founded. Emphasis is
placed not solely on learning but on enjoying and playing too; the creative
aspects of the school and the wide variety of sport played, combined
with the academic learning, create an environment where children find it
stimulating and rewarding to work. Here at St Richard’s children
can be children while essentially benefitting from all that we offer
them.
The traditional character of St. Richard's, based on the concept of an extended family, is maintained by the headmaster who takes personal care of the pastoral welfare of each child. The staffing policy ensures a blend of experience and continuity. Many of the staff live alongside the children in the beautiful and spacious confines of Bredenbury Court.
