Choosing the right school for your child is the most important decision a parent makes. I confidently believe that the start we give children at St Richard's is one of the best a child and parent could wish for. Both as Headmaster and father of five, I truly believe that entrusting our children to a close knit, safe, secure environment, where they are stretched academically until 13+, whilst at the same time allowing them to be children, is one of the most valuable gifts we can bestow as parents.
Prep schools are an extension of our family, with a scale to match. This prepares our children for the larger senior schools, university and then the wider world. This is, of course, a progressive adventure but I believe it is important that, with all the pressures our world places upon our shoulders, the brief time we have as children should be preserved and celebrated, and not squandered along the way, as some children strive to become adults and grow up sooner than they should.
St Richard's is a Catholic school where we welcome children of all denominations. The belief of 'children being valued as individuals, with the potential and responsibility of contributing to the whole school community' is one that is celebrated both by our pupils and our staff.
At St Richard's we aim to give all pupils a sense of their personal worth and the value of family and community within a
stimulating and supportive environment. Excellent academic standards are achieved through child-centred teaching, in small
classes, where a love of learning is nurtured and pupils can gain confidence in their own ability to think for themselves.
The broad academic, sporting and artistic curriculum of which St Richard's is so proud, produces happy, confident, responsible
children which makes them much sought after by leading public schools across the country.
We can only give you a flavour of the many qualities and facilities that we offer at St Richard's on this website. Therefore I would
like to invite you to visit our beautiful and unique school, to meet the pupils and staff and to experience at first hand the quality
of the overall education over which I am so proud to preside.
